This video explains the difference between the OEM and Girodisc front brake rotors for your 6th Gen
Camaro ZL1/ZL1 1LE and the brake pads that you run with them.
We have two OEM replacement rotor rings options in stock for your 6th Gen Camaro SS 1LE: Girodisc and
DBA. Watch this video to learn about the weight, dimensions, and design differences between these two
brands.
Girodisc sent us their very first pair of 2-piece rotors for a 6th Gen Camaro ZL1/ZL1 1LE. First
impressions.
In this series we worked with Garage Therapy NC to learn about brakes on their ZL1 1LE track Camaro. We
talk about lightweight Gorodisc 2-piece rotors, rotor fitment, pad wear, and available race pad options.
This diagram shows the increase in brake pad radial depth, with the SS 1LE pad being the "skinniest" and
the stock ZL1 1LE being the "fattest." Girodisc rotors for ZL1 and ZL1 1LE have a smaller swept area
than the OEM rotors and require a pad with smaller radial depth (middle image). Stock ZL1/ ZL1 1LE pads
DO NOT fit the Girodisc rotors. You can order the Modified Hawk pads, or, if you don't mind loosing a
couple of mm of friction material, you can choose to install the SS 1LE pads.
