  • Brake pads are NOT included with our system. Racing brake pads are a highly personal choice. Many manufacturers include a set of inexpensive, low quality pads with their brake kits. Rather than artificially inflating the price of our system with a set of pads you probably don't want anyway, we've decided to remove the cost from our system and allow our customers to choose the pads that best suit their needs/wants. When purchasing our kit, you are able to choose one set of front pads at a substantial discount vs. the retail price.

Our standard recommendation is to allow for at least 2mm of clearance in all areas, so this one is about as tight as you can get.

2.5 mm between the wheel spokes and the face of the caliper. This can be seen in drawing 1 below. If more clearance is desired a wheel spacer would do the job, and it could be very thin.

2 mm between the bolt-in caliper bridge and the barrel section of the wheel. In drawing 1 you can also see that a slight modification to top portion of the caliper bridge that sticks up could be add a little more clearance. That section is really just to make it easy to grab with one’s fingers. The benefits of a wheel spacer with respect to adding clearance here would be very little.

2 mm between the small piston end of the caliper body and the barrel section of the rim. See drawing 2. This is the area of most concern. We do not recommend clearancing (grinding down) that corner of the caliper.

We cannot guarantee these figures/clearances on your car, since there are variations ineverycaliper body and every wheel. What we have here looks very, very close. Actual clearances on your car will likely be a little different. Our advice is to do what you feel comfortable with based on what you’re seeing with the template on your specific setup. The dimensions of our fitment template in the link above are accurate down to the mm.
